Mission Statement: Uniting community members to ensure all children develop into skilled readers through sustained initiatives and research-based actions. When community members and schools unite to form strategic alliances, determine actions and implement research-based initiatives around early literacy, young children will acquire the necessary abilities required to develop their full potential as independent, skilled readers.

The Grinnell Mutual Aquatic Center is scheduled to open onJune 1st, 2010 for the use and enjoyment of all area residents. The City of Grinnell is devoting $3 million in revenue from a local option sales tax to replace the existing municipal pool, which has deteriorated through many years of heavy use. Private donors, foundations, businesses, and other governmental entities are being asked to help an additional $2 million cost - to convert the new pool into an Aquatic Center. Objectives and Purposes: 1. To provide activities, communications and other services for those who attended schools in the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District and other members of the Association, 2. To foster and support the educational and related activities to the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District and 3. To support the efforts of the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District Scholarship Program, and encourage contributions to that fund.
