The Grinnell Mutual Aquatic Center is scheduled to open onJune 1st, 2010 for the use and enjoyment of all area residents. The City of Grinnell is devoting $3 million in revenue from a local option sales tax to replace the existing municipal pool, which has deteriorated through many years of heavy use. Private donors, foundations, businesses, and other governmental entities are being asked to help an additional $2 million cost - to convert the new pool into an Aquatic Center. Water features such as slides, geysers, and a "lazy river" will be complemented by a new bath house, concession building, modern restrooms and more.
